What if my family just doesn’t like fruits and vegetables?

Leah replied:

Whether your picky eaters are young or grown up, there are some ways you can get them to try new things.

It can take 10-15 tries for someone to like a new food. So keep trying. You can also look for new ways of cooking or serving different foods. If someone in the family doesn’t like tomatoes, try grape tomatoes. If they don’t like steamed carrots, try them roasted. Include them with a food your family already likes, or with a healthy dip like hummus or even ketchup. Avoid bribing—that just reinforces the idea that veggies are bad.

It can also help to set an example—show that you’re enjoying fruits and vegetables yourself. Finally, get everyone in the family involved with choosing and preparing foods. They’re much more likely to like something they helped create!
