Carbohydrates, or carbs, are actually really important—they provide energy for your body. Carbs aren’t only found in breads and snacks. They’re in whole grains, fruits and vegetables, and dairy products—foods that provide vitamins, fiber, healthy fats, protein, and more.
The issue is what we call “empty carbs.” Cookies, donuts, white bread and things made with a lot of sugar don’t offer any real nutritional value, so they should be “sometimes” foods.
