New to SNAP: Apply for nutrition assistance

Eat Easy can't assist with signing up for SNAP benefits, but here are two groups who can.

Visit the New York Office of Temporary Disability Assistance (OTDA) to find out how to apply for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP). You can also find places for help applying or access emergency resources.
Visit OTDA and apply for SNAP

The Nutrition Outreach and Education Program (NOEP) also offers free, confidential help applying for SNAP. They can see if you may be eligible, help you gather documents, and complete your SNAP application. You'll also get information on other programs that may help stretch your food budget.

SNAP incentives like FreshConnect, Double Up Food Bucks, and NYC Farmers’ Market Health Bucks encourage people with SNAP benefits to shop local and fresh by matching SNAP funds (see program details for match amount).

FreshConnect
Double your SNAP benefits for any SNAP-eligible products at participating farmers’ markets. Just visit the market information booth, swipe your card, and receive $2 coupons for every $2 you plan to spend. THINGS TO KNOW: $50 match limit in coupons per market day. Coupons expire at the end of the year. We recommend using your coupons before your tokens, as they do not expire.
