“Soup bowl breathing” is a great trick when you need to clear your mind, lower your stress or get focused.

It’s easy!

  1. Cup your hands like you’re holding a bowl of your favorite soup (or just put your hands in your lap).
  2. Sit up tall and close your eyes or glance down.
  3. Breathe in through your nose, like you’re smelling a delicious bowl of soup.
  4. Breathe out through your mouth, like you’re trying to blow on the bowl to cool it down.
  5. Breathe in for 4 seconds.
